after looking deeper into the market and America was clear that this has to be something that stands out for us it was a really important project because the cars special for the US market and we wanted to be bold big but in the other hand as well beautiful the midsize SUVs in u. s.  they have their own style and we've been in the lucky position that we had also some very young designers from the states in our team so we discussed the project a lot with those guys to take their input and their knowledge about this kind of segment in the States that is something that we had to learn what's the expectation and what is boldness for an American customer and we have a very clear design DNA at VWand this DNA is based on simplicity our cars have to be understandable for the customers it's a facial expression of a car a product is defining its character we want to give the car white appearance a very earnest look it should look substantial but without being too aggressive they emphasize about the wheels was our main feature line that sits a bit lower between the wheel arches and and then sloping up over the wheels and is ending in the area of there lights and of the front lights especially also when you look at the seaport or the depots has his own character the massive grill the headlights and connecting the grille into the headlight I think this gives power to the girl this was really important for us to do a really simple integral because our lives outside of a car are complicated enough the position of the ambient lighting and the interior was really important for us to create a lounge feeling in the car with the precision line we divided the dashboard doors and horizontal areas with horizontal lines and themes and you can feel it that everything is well balanced that there are no complicated corners it's really important that you feel really well you know this is your car you know you bring your family into the car as well so this is your home in you need to swell from us of a kind of basic environment that you feel really comfortable it's a machine that delivers freedom and this is something that you have to understand when you when you start to design such a piece needs to have this tightness as boldness it's about freedom
